The Summit Avenue Residential Preservation Association (SARPA) and the Ramsey Hill Association (RHA) will be hosting an interesting and informative talk on The Gargoyle Dlub presented by James Goman.

The Gargoyle Club was a club for architects and draftsmen in Saint Paul which began in 1913 and lasted until the early 2000's. Both a social and professional organization, it brought many noteworthy architects together outside of their offices and fostered civic engagement. Noteworthy affiliates of the club include Thomas Holyoke, Cass Gilbert, Emmanuel Masqueray, Clarence Johnston, Edwin Lundie, Frank Abrahamson, George Anderson- and many more. This presentation will explore the life and times of the club from its origins and intentions to its dissolution; and, share some of their work.

WHO: James Goman has a BA in Art History from Augsburg and a masters of architecture from the University of Minnesota. He is a former student of Kristin Anderson and a SARPA board member.

Parking: Parking is available in the Cathedral Lot

*Hayden Hall Entrance: Hayden Hall is in the north end of the lower level of the Cathedral.
